ADA SSD-66 (5.1)

Digital Surround Sound Preamplifier

The SSD-66 (5.1) is the heart of ADA's Digital Home Theater System. It is both a Dolby Digital AC-3 and Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound Decoder as well as a full function Auido_Video Preamplfier. The SSD-66 combines four analog audio inputs, 2 digital coax (RCA) inputs, an optical digital audio input (TOS-Link), a multipin analog audio input, and four composite video inputs in a single chassis that measures only 1.75 inches in height. It also offers a low voltage trigger output that can be used to engage power amplifiers as well as the ADA Bus data port. The ADA Bus port permits the SSD-66 (5.1) to be controlled from computerized touch screen systems as well as an ADA keypad. Not only can you control the SSD-66 (5.1) with these systems, but the SSD-66 (5.1) provides complete data system status feedback.

When using Laser Disc players for playback of Dolby Digital AC-3 software, ADA offers the RFD-1 AC-3 RF Demodulator which easily connects to the SSD-66 (5.1). For playback of DTS encoded software from either a Laser Disc player, CD player, or DVD player, ADA provides the DTS-1 Decoder. This unit also connects to the SSD-66 (5.1). Best of all, while you may only require the SSD-66 (5.1) for AC-3 playback from a DVD player and Pro Logic playback from DSS, TV, and VCRs, you can always add the RFD-1 or DTS-1 at some later time.

The SSD-66 is fully programmable and incorporates a wide range of additional surround modes sutible for film, TV, and music playback. It is easy to use and permits setup such that once an input is selected, the correct mode, acoustical filters, and channel volume levels engage automatically. The setup functions can be performed from its front panel or from the included infrared remote control.
