An Introduction To
ADA Multi-Room Systems

Before you begin to get into a serious discussion about multi-room entertainment systems, it is worthwhile to understand some of the key words and phrases associated with both custom installation and whole-house audio_video products. While stereo terminology may be something you are familiar with, the lingo associated to complex audio distribution systems, may be completely new to you. The following guidelines will assist you in getting up to speed.

Zone - This typically refers to a room or several rooms which operate together with respect to an audio or video component selection. If a CD player is selected in one room on Zone 1, another room on Zone 1 would also have to listen to that CD player. Please note, that the second room on that zone does not have to be on. A room on Zone 2 could listen to another component.

Single-Zone System - A single zone system will permit music to play in many areas of the home, however, only one source can play at a time. ADA manufactures only one "Single-Zone System", the Genesis. As in the previous description of a "Zone", the Genesis permits the selection of one of several sources to play throughout the house. Rooms can be turned on and off independently of each other, but if Room 1 is on to CD, Room 2 could only listen to CD. If Room 2 was set to FM, Room one would also switch to FM.

Multi-Zone System - A multi-zone system permits several zones (rooms or group of rooms) to play different components simultaneously. Thus, an individual in Zone 1 could select CD while someone else could select FM. ADA provides four "Multi-Zone Systems" beginning with the Millennium System, then the Delta System, then the System Omega, and finally, System 8000.

Life-Style Architecture - This may be a new one for some of you. Most multi-room electronics providers offer only one system. As such they imply that this one system will fit every possible need. ADA, using its 20 years of experience as a guide, realizes that there are different lifestyles and varying budgets. In our opinion, no one system can accommodate every need. That is why ADA offers five (5) different multi-room entertainment systems, each one based on a specific "Life-Style Architecture."

System Engineering - Again, using experience as a guide, ADA has observed that the very best entertainment system is.....a comprehensive system. At Audio Design, we manufacture not just the routing products, but the preamplifiers, power amplifiers, IR component control devices, AC switchers, keypads, infrared remote controls,...., everything for your system. Our approach to "System Engineering" leaves you free of worries regarding compatibility, sound quality, expendability, and ease of operation.

While you proceed to explore ADA's world of multi-room home entertainment, please note that the most advanced system may be more than your need. Some of the very basic pleasures derived from multi-room audio systems, is the ability to have music follow you throughout your home and grounds. As you walk from one room to the next, the same songs float with you. If you would like further descriptions on multi-room systems, select the "Need More Info" button. Otherwise you could immediately decide on a System by name by pressing the "Select By System" button. If would like to examine the various keypads and select a system based on keypads, press the "Select By Control" button. Please note, this page may take some additional time to load.
