The Rapture Control (MC-5000) is a new keypad designed to control
ADA's Millennium 2000, Delta, Omega, and Rhapsody systems. Rapture
departs from other multi-room controls in that it provides the
ability to design with color, the lighting pattern of the buttons
as well as the bi-directional twelve character display. Like the
MC-3000, Rapture can tell you what you are listening too, what
radio station you are on, and what song, album or artist you are
listening to.
If the system is off, only the source buttons will be glowing
their base color. By selecting a source, its button will change
to the secondary source color while the rest of the keypad lights
up.
Rapture redefines the keypad because, in addition to being offered
in a variety of plate finishes (including white, black anodized,
brass, chrome, black chrome, other precious metal finishes, and
custom paint finishes), the clear rubber buttons are backlit by
a three-segment LED. This powerful LED permits any combination
of red, green, and blue light for a multitude of colors. Pure
white, violet, aqua, yellow, blue, green, and red colors are associated
to seven button groups. These groups represent like functions.
Source selection buttons allow you to assign two color groupings, one for the sources that are not selected, another for the component that is selected. Other groups include: bass and treble; transport functions; numeric buttons; room off button; and extra button. You can assign each group a different color or the same color.
Rapture also features a built-in IR receiver which acts as both
a room IR pick up and IR repeater system. Rapture wall plates
are screwless and can be changed on the fly.
In a world where there are simply too many buttons, Rapture allows function groups to be defined by light rather than by shape. Just having the volume up and down buttons stand out will simplify the system's control.
