Advanced Keypad Functions

For MC-3000, MC-3800,

& MC-3000 OD

The MC-3000, MC-3800, and MC-3000 OD all permit several advanced control options with either a Delta System, System Omega, or System 8000. Unlike other multi-room systems, these ADA systems operate on the ADA Bus and as such, have greater control flexibility in addition to true real-time data feedback.

Because each control runs on its own microprocessor, it can communicate to the entire system and not just one room. Therefore, you can be up in your bedroom preparing for a dinner party and listening to the radio. Shortly before your guests arrive, you can go to the bedroom's keypad and access other rooms in the house. Once you have accessed another room, you can engage a component for this room, control that components's transport functions to engage random play (for example), and even adjust that room's volume level. Once the Living Room is up and running, you can proceed to engage the dining room, all from the comfort and convenience of your bedroom keypad.

ADA has provided two methods to access other rooms from these keypads. The first is a manual scrolling to each room. The diagram below details both the function and feedback provided by the keypad.

The second option is called "ROOM SCAN". Again, by pressing and releasing the keypad's SHIFT button, the keypad's display will indicate "ALT FUNCTION". By simply pressing the keypad's >> button, the keypad will engage the "ROOM SCAN" feature. One at a time, the keypad's display will indicate "NEXT ROOM", followed by the room's name and its status. There is a moment of time before the keypad's display automatically advances to the next room whereby which you can engage a component for this room. Either way, when in the "Room Scan" mode, the keypad will cycle through the entire system displaying the room's name and its status.

When the keypad is done with its room scan function or manual next room function, it will automatically time out of the "ALT FUNCTION" mode and return to its "NORMAL MODE', controlling the room it is in. If you wish at any time to interrupt the Next Room or Room Scan function, all you have to do is press the SHIFT button once.
